Solar Power at Detroit’s Noel Night!

Happy Holidays to you!

Dear Readers, I want to apologize for this site going stale like it did for a while! That was something I swore I wouldn’t do, then I did it. Ugh.

So, remember the O-GO, the little solar-powered Off-Grid Outlet I featured in my June blog? Well, that little guy ended up powering several events around the city of Detroit in 2016, including a mobile microphone at several walking tours, a Mario Kart video game at Open Streets Detroit, a pottery wheel  (also at Open Streets Detroit), and the lighting for an ornamental art installation by Thick Air Studios at Midtown Detroit’s Noel Night event on December 3, 2016. Here is a short video of the solar-powered Noel Night fun, courtesy of Solar Party Detroit:

In 2016 the O-GO generated over 5,000 watt-hours of clean energy and saved over 10 pounds of CO2 pollution. That’s a great start, and we expect an even better 2017!
